Subaru Forester 2013 - an all-wheel drive model that simultaneously occupies a niche of both station wagons and crossovers. Introduced in November, the Forester SJ is the fourth generation of the car.

It is noteworthy that while retaining its strong off-road features, the Lesnik has at the same time been significantly changed: the exterior design began to look more modern, and the spartan interior of its predecessor gave way to a new decor from Subaru XV.

Having become nobler on the outside, the practical five-door has not lost its strengths. All versions of the Subaru Forester are all-wheel drive. Ground clearance "Forester" is 220 mm. Modifications with an initial two-liter “aspirated” (150 hp), paired with a six-speed “mechanics”, are provided with a permanent “symmetrical” all-wheel drive system with a center differential and a viscous clutch. Versions with a CVT are equipped with an all-wheel drive system in which the traction transmitted to the rear wheels is varied by a multi-plate electronically controlled clutch.

The company decided to abandon the classic "automatic machines", so all automated "Foresters" received a V-chain variator with paddle shifters and imitation of six gears in manual mode (eight in versions with the most powerful turbocharged 240-horsepower engine).

CVT vehicles also feature the new X-Mode off-road system, which will help when driving over rough terrain. Several auxiliary systems are woven into the X-Mod, in particular, a downhill assistant, which only works at speeds up to 20 km / h.

The intermediate engine for the Subaru Forester is a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine (172 hp). So far, only gasoline engines have been supplied to the market. In addition to them, Europeans also have a two-liter diesel engine with a capacity of 147 hp.
