Subaru BRZ - built a car on a platform Impreza, and its assembly began in 2012. It is noteworthy that when creating the model, the Japanese wanted to bring its driving performance and handling to the level of the Porsche Cayman S.
Especially for this, the designers have shifted the engine as low and deeper as possible within the wheelbase. Thanks to this, it was possible to achieve a very low center of gravity, which is at a level of only 460 mm from the ground. In addition, the car received an almost perfect weight distribution between the axles (53:47), and Subaru specialists brought its drag coefficient to 0.27. Improves the aerodynamic performance of the BRZ and the flat bottom in no small way.
As a power plant, the rear-wheel drive coupe uses a two-liter naturally aspirated engine. The boxer engine prefers 98-octane gasoline and produces a maximum power of 200 hp. at 7,000 rpm, and a peak torque of 205 Nm at 6,600 rpm. The red zone at the unit starts at 7,400 rpm.
The engine can be paired with either a six-speed "mechanics" or a six-band "automatic". In the first case, the Subaru BRZ accelerates to one hundred kilometers per hour in 7.6 seconds, and in the second - in 8.2 seconds.
The coupe has a 2+2 seating formula. BRZ is produced at the Subaru enterprise along with a co-platform Toyota GT86. The clearance of versions with manual gearboxes is 130 mm, and with automatic ones - 120 mm. Interestingly, if you fold the backs of the rear seats, then the two-door is ready to accommodate exactly four interchangeable wheels and two helmets - the car, as they say, is prepared for track days.
