Subaru XV- the car offers a unique combination in its class: permanent all-wheel drive, geometric cross-country ability of the level of SUVs (the clearance of the model is 220 mm), as well as a low center of gravity, which is achieved through the installation of boxer engines.
The crossover is built on a new "Imprezov" platform, which is a seriously modernized "truck" of its predecessor. First of all, the improvements affected the power circuit: to increase passive safety, many nodes were strengthened, and in addition, along the way, they also increased the amount of heavy-duty steel.
Unlike Europeans, who are offered a 147-horsepower diesel engine, the list of available power plants on the Ukrainian market includes only two gasoline engines:
boxer with a volume of 1.6 liters (114 hp, 150 Nm);
boxer with a volume of 2 liters (150 hp, 196 Nm).
For a surcharge, any of the motors can be aggregated with a variator. Otherwise, engines are offered with manual gearboxes by default: five gears for the 1.6-liter engine and six for the two-liter.
Lineatronic variator, exactly the same as the one Audi, is a wedge chain, which should positively affect its durability. The transmission has a manual mode in which the driver can cycle through "virtual" gears using paddle shifters.
Versions with a 1.6-liter engine, paired with "mechanics", are equipped with a reduction gear. In more powerful modifications with a 150-horsepower engine, it is not offered.
Regardless of the type of power plant, all Subaru XVs supplied to the Ukrainian market have a permanent all-wheel drive system. Only its settings and device depend on the engine. Subaru XV is produced in Japan.
